Position title
Turnaround specialist - Remote - Northern Ireland
Description

Our client is a Northern Irish business that has enjoyed significant profitability and success in the past. However, due to changing market conditions and other challenges, the company is currently facing a period of financial and operational uncertainty. To address these challenges and navigate the path towards recovery and growth, we are seeking an experienced Business Turnaround Specialist to work remotely and lead the transformation efforts.

This is an ideal role for a proven FD or CFO with prior turnaround experience.

Responsibilities

1. Business Assessment:

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the company's financial health, operations, and overall business structure.
  • Identify the root causes of the current challenges and opportunities for improvement.

2. Turnaround Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a clear and data-driven turnaround strategy that addresses immediate issues and positions the company for long-term success.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and stakeholders to gain buy-in and support for the turnaround plan.

3. Financial Restructuring:

  • Manage and optimize the company's financial resources, including working capital, debt management, and cost reduction.
  • Implement financial controls and reporting mechanisms to ensure accountability and transparency.

4. Operational Excellence:

  • Evaluate and enhance operational processes and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

5. Stakeholder Communication:

  • Maintain transparent and open communication with all stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with creditors, investors, and financial institutions.

6. Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a dedicated turnaround team or work collaboratively with existing staff to implement the recovery plan.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in business turnaround, restructuring, or revitalisation efforts, preferably within the Northern Irish or UK context.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Qualified Accountant, ACA, ACMA, ACCA
  • Exceptional leadership and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
