Part-Time FD - Oxford
Description

Our client  is a leading professional services company based in Oxford. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality solutions to our clients and maintaining a reputation for excellence in our industry. As part of their commitment to strategic financial management, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Finance Director to join their dynamic team.

This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule of hybrid working.  Initially 4 days per week, then in time reducing to 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented and strategic-minded Finance Director to oversee the financial operations of our company on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and executing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the organisation.

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with company goals and objectives.
    • Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and contribute to decision-making processes.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate forecasting.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets and provide recommendations for improvement.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  4. Cash Flow Management:
    • Manage cash flow effectively, optimizing working capital and liquidity.
    • Implement strategies to mitigate financial risks and improve financial resilience.
  5. Financial Compliance:
    • Oversee compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and other statutory obligations.
    • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
  6. Financial Systems and Controls:
    • Evaluate and enhance financial systems and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
    • Implement best practices to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
  7. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance and support.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance department.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a similar senior finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in a professional services or related industry is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office suite.
