Our client a SaaS business based in Bristol, is a growing business currently around £2m with activities in the USA/Canada and Australia and New Zealand.
Their current FD is exiting, the role is a few days per month on average, sometimes more, sometimes less. They have a strong financial system in place (billing, recs, suppliers etc), with a competent financial controller.
They are now looking for a new FD who has an understanding of SaaS and will be able to work with key SaaS metrics, and understand growth and cash cycles for small SaaS businesses.
They also seek a candidate with a strategic awareness of sources of capital, and whilst there is no current intent to exit, they are mindful of valuation and potential saleability should plans change.
The current FD will have an outgoing brief available covering the basic operational aspects, and the gaps that they see that need covered. The MD is currently deeply involved and interested in financial matters, and this is likely to continue, but some delegation / transfer of responsibility does need to take place.

An attractive day rate is on offer, this role will be inside of IR35.
