About the Company

Our client is a dynamic and growing business within the creative industries, based in central London. Known for delivering innovative and high-quality projects, the business works with a diverse client base across the arts, media, and design sectors. They are now seeking an experienced and strategic Part-Time Finance Director to join their leadership team and drive financial performance, growth, and resilience.

Role Overview

The Finance Director will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of the business, ensuring strong financial management, and providing commercial insight to support decision-making. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with creative entrepreneurs and managing the financial operations of a growing SME.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategy aligned with business goals.

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and financial reporting.

  • Provide clear analysis and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.

  • Manage and review monthly management accounts, statutory accounts, and tax compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, governance, and best practices.

  • Lead financial planning for new projects, investments, and business opportunities.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and improve profitability.

  • Oversee relationships with external accountants, auditors, banks, and funding bodies.

  • Build and mentor the finance team (if applicable), ensuring robust systems and processes are in place.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

  • Significant experience as Finance Director, Head of Finance, or similar role, ideally in the creative industries or related SME environment.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance creativity with financial discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in cashflow management and business planning.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker who is also hands-on and comfortable in a small, fast-paced team.

  • Proficiency in accounting systems and reporting tools.
