Interim Finance Director - London - Loss Adjuster
Description

We are recruiting for a London based Finance Director for a leading Loss adjuster.

Our client are a reputable loss adjusters firm based in London, providing expert claims management and loss assessment services to a wide range of clients. With a strong track record of delivering exceptional results, we are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to join their team on a temporary basis and provide strategic financial guidance during the absence of the current FD.

Job Summary: As the Interim Finance Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and driving the financial strategy of our loss adjusters firm. Your main objective will be to ensure the company's financial health and stability while maintaining high-quality standards in financial reporting and compliance. You will work closely with senior management to support decision-making, drive performance improvement initiatives, and provide valuable insights for business growth.

This is an interim position with an expected duration of 9 and 12 months.  The role is office based with some opportunity for hybrid working.

Responsibilities
  1. Financial Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
    • Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  2. Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
    • Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and scenario modeling, to drive informed decision-making.
    • Collaborate with department heads to establish and monitor performance indicators and targets.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and budgets in line with business plans and objectives.
  3. Business Partnering:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute business strategies.
    • Provide financial insights and guidance to support strategic initiatives, investments, and business development opportunities.
    • Advise on pricing strategies, cost optimization, and profitability improvement.
    • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, such as auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
  4. Team Leadership:
    • Manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring their professional growth and engagement.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Lead by example, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, preferably within the insurance or loss adjusters industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in managing financial operations, including cash flow management, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and relevant regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic financial advice and support to senior management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive performance improvement.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
