The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller (Practice Support) to lead our internal financial management, regulatory compliance, and insolvency case support functions. This is a critical role at the heart of the firm, ensuring our internal operations remain efficient, compliant, and aligned with our growth ambitions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of internal financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in line with statutory requirements and firm policies.

  • Lead the monitoring and management of regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant industry standards and legislative requirements.

  • Provide financial oversight and support for insolvency cases, working closely with case managers to ensure accurate reporting and control.

  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls and processes to support business growth and mitigate risk.

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders as required.

  • Support the partners and senior management team with commercial and strategic financial advice.

  • Manage and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.

  • Previous experience in a professional services or accountancy practice environment is essential.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance obligations relevant to accountancy and insolvency.

  • Excellent financial management, budgeting, and reporting skills.

  • Proven ability to manage and improve internal processes and controls.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the business.

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
