The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller (Practice Support) to lead our internal financial management, regulatory compliance, and insolvency case support functions. This is a critical role at the heart of the firm, ensuring our internal operations remain efficient, compliant, and aligned with our growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of internal financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in line with statutory requirements and firm policies.

Lead the monitoring and management of regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant industry standards and legislative requirements.

Provide financial oversight and support for insolvency cases, working closely with case managers to ensure accurate reporting and control.

Develop and maintain robust internal controls and processes to support business growth and mitigate risk.

Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders as required.

Support the partners and senior management team with commercial and strategic financial advice.

Manage and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
About You

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.

Previous experience in a professional services or accountancy practice environment is essential.

Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance obligations relevant to accountancy and insolvency.

Excellent financial management, budgeting, and reporting skills.

Proven ability to manage and improve internal processes and controls.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the business.

Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
