Our offices are closed from 24th December through to 3rd January, so its our opportunity to wish all our team members a very Merry Xmas, a great New Years eve and of course continued success for 2023. This has been a challenging year for many of our customers and candidates alike, but nevertheless FD Capital continues to grow and develop, we now have more FD’s and CFO’s on our books that ever before and have placed more candidates in 2022 than any other year.
The recruitment market however is a tougher place at the moment, and while not as challenging as the lockdowns it is nevertheless tougher going, and we are seeing a lot more uncertainty with decision makers holding back, when at the same time last year the World was a much more positive and peaceful place. Who would have thought that 2022 would have brought a European War to our doorsteps, and in Ukraine of all places where we support the Agape Orphanage!, they not surprisingly need our help and support more than ever.
The UK Political landscape has been very dramatic, with three Prime Ministers in a very short space of time, this has done nothing but cause uncertainty and now the current administration appears to lack any serious intent to address the Nations many challenges. If that was not enough then the Bank of Interest has repeatedly raised interest rates in an attempt to contain inflation which has arisen due the hangover from Covid and now the war in Ukraine, regrettably this has already been overdone as in our view rates in the range of 2.0% to 2.5% are enough to return inflation back within target by 2024, and regrettably the Bank Of England appears to be making serious policy errors, and no one is saying anything, at least FD Capital is speaking up!

Turning to 2023, our pipeline of work has grown a lot in the last month or so, which is a most positive sign that 2023 will be busier than 2022, it will be very welcome if that turns out to be the case, also our core team of our most trusted and loyal professionals is stronger than ever, we now have experts within:-

- Equity raising – Seed through to A and B series.
- Debt refinancing – including former bank managers from the distressed lending teams of Barclays and Lloyds.
