Current Finance Director & CFO Jobs

- Fractional Finance Director or CFO — typically 2–3 days per week, ongoing
- Part-Time Finance Director or CFO — fixed hours per week, permanent or rolling contract

Finance Director & CFO Salary Guide
Salaries and day rates vary significantly by engagement type, sector, and company size. As a broad guide for UK placements:
- Fractional FD / CFO: £800–£1,800 per day — see Fractional CFO Cost in the UK
- Part-Time FD / CFO: £60,000–£120,000 pro-rata per annum
- Interim FD / CFO: £600–£1,500 per day (IR35 status dependent)

IR35 and Contracting
IR35 status is a key consideration for interim and fractional FDs operating through a limited company. FD Capital works with hirers to ensure correct status determination on each role. We recommend candidates seeking guidance read our IR35 status determination guide and understanding IR35 overview before accepting an interim assignment.
Fractional FDs operating genuine portfolio careers — holding multiple concurrent clients and operating through a limited company — typically fall outside IR35. Individual circumstances matter and specialist tax advice is recommended.
Finance Director CV Tips

Key principles:
- Lead with achievements — quantify revenue impact, cost savings, funds raised
- Highlight sectors and business sizes — PE-backed, VC-backed, listed, SME
- Be explicit about engagement type — fractional, interim, permanent — and duration
- Include board-level exposure and key stakeholder relationships
- For portfolio roles, group them clearly — avoid the CV reading as a series of short tenures
