Position Overview:
As the Finance Director (FD), you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of our automotive sector business in the West Midlands. Reporting directly to the CFP and CEO, you will play a critical role in shaping financial strategies, providing insightful analysis, and ensuring the business's financial health remains robust. Your expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management will be instrumental in driving growth and maximising profitability while maintaining compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities
  1. Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals and objectives, contributing to overall business success.
  2. Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing accurate and timely financial analysis to support decision-making by the executive team.
  3. Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's assets and investments.
  4. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  5. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow effectively, optimising working capital and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  6. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial laws, regulations, and accounting principles while keeping up-to-date with changes in financial reporting standards.
  7. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while promoting professional development.
  8. Capital Investment Analysis: Evaluate potential investment opportunities, assess ROI, and provide recommendations to support business expansion and improvement initiatives.
  9. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with the executive team, board of directors, and external stakeholders, providing financial insights and guidance to influence strategic decisions.
  10. Cost Control: Identify areas for cost optimization, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and driving efficiency across the organisation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience (at least 8-10 years) in finance leadership roles within the automotive sector or a related manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and business analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial strategies, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
