FD Capital are recruiting for an Interim CFO Company: VC-Backed FinTech Start-Up in London UK.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim CFO to join our fast-growing VC-backed FinTech start-up based in London. As the Interim CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy, driving growth, and ensuring the financial health of the company during this transitional period. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in the cutting-edge world of financial technology.

Our client is currently working towards a Series-B fundraise and are therefore looking for a CFO who has successfully supported or led a Start-Up through fundraising at a Series A - Series C level. Their service is unique in the FinTech space, setting them apart from competition and gives them the potential to become a market leader and household name.

Note: This is an interim position with a duration of approximately 6-12 months, with potential for a permanent role based on performance and company needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, aligning it with our overall business objectives and long-term goals. Collaborate with the executive team to assess opportunities, risks, and potential growth areas.
  2. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate and realistic financial projections. Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing regular updates to the management team.
  4. Cash Flow Management: Manage the company's cash flow, optimizing working capital and ensuring adequate liquidity. Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow, including forecasting, treasury management, and expense control.
  5. Investor Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for our investors, providing regular updates on financial performance, milestones, and key metrics. Support fundraising efforts and participate in investor presentations.
  6. Risk Management and Compliance: Develop and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  7. Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor the finance and accounting team, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
  8. Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with external partners, including auditors, legal advisors, and financial institutions, to ensure effective financial operations and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or similar leadership role in a fast-paced start-up or FinTech environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in working with venture capital investors and managing investor relations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cash flow management, treasury operations, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing finance teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
