About the Opportunity
We are working with a high-growth, cutting-edge technology business in the defence sector that is scaling rapidly following significant contract wins and a strong pipeline of future opportunities.
With major international expansion underway, our client is looking to appoint a UK CFO to play a pivotal role in building and leading the finance function during this critical growth phase.
The Role
Reporting directly to UK and global leadership, this is a hands-on CFO position combining strategic oversight with operational delivery.
You will be instrumental in establishing robust financial processes, supporting expansion across jurisdictions, and ensuring the business is positioned for scale.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial reporting to UK and global leadership teams
Manage company-wide cash flow and financial planning
Oversee budgeting (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Lead and develop the finance function, including Financial Controller and supply chain finance activities
Support tax, compliance, and corporate filings
Establish and oversee new legal entities across Europe
Monitor profitability and financial performance of the UK business
Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, and advisors
Support broader commercial activities where required (e.g. contracts, insurance, operational finance)
Qualifications
Candidate Profile
We are looking to speak with individuals who bring:
Proven experience operating at CFO / Finance Director level
Strong background in high-growth or scaling environments
Hands-on approach with willingness to operate at both strategic and operational levels
Experience managing confidential and sensitive financial data
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong attention to detail and accountability
Desirable:
Experience with Business Central ERP
Background in defence, aerospace, or advanced engineering sectors
