London (Hybrid) | Fractional, 2–3 days per week | Day rate negotiable
FD Capital is partnering with a fast-growing London-based technology company to appoint a hands-on Fractional Financial Controller. This is a 2–3 day per week role on a hybrid basis — a genuine portfolio opportunity for an experienced FC who wants to own the numbers for an ambitious, scaling business without a full-time commitment.
Our client has reached the stage where the finance function needs a safe pair of hands to take ownership of the day-to-day controllership — clean management accounts, tight controls and reliable reporting — while the leadership team focuses on growth. You'll be the person who makes sure the financial engine runs properly.
Responsibilities
The role
• Own the month-end close and produce accurate, timely management accounts
• Run cash flow forecasting, budgeting and management reporting for the board
• Embed and strengthen financial controls, processes and reconciliations
• Manage the day-to-day finance operations and any junior finance team / outsourced support
• Own the year-end audit and the relationship with external accountants
• Improve finance systems and automation — bringing order and scalability as the company grows
• Partner with the founders / leadership on the numbers behind commercial decisions
What our client is looking for
• A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong financial controller experience
• Hands-on controllership — comfortable owning the close, not just reviewing it
• Experience within a technology, SaaS or high-growth / startup environment
• Confident with modern finance systems (e.g. Xero, NetSuite, QuickBooks) and finance automation
• Comfortable working fractionally — self-directed, organised and able to add value in a focused 2–3 days
• A pragmatic, scale-up mindset: builds the controls a growing business needs without over-engineering
