The opportunity:

Our client is a rapidly scaling and well-funded start-up in the sustainability and circular-economy space, and is characterised by the strength of its corporate governance. It is seeking a Financial Director to lead the finance function and support the growth of this international, high profile Cleantech business.

The FD will be a member of the Executive and work closely with the Board to provide financial guidance in both formulating strategy and overseeing the implementation of new financial processes and structures, within an evolving market. A high degree of financial expertise will be key to the success of this role and ensure the company delivers its ambitious objectives.

 

Responsibilities

As part of its remit in scaling-up, the candidate will also be expected to assist fundraising efforts and manage communication with shareholders and stakeholders. The role will require a proactive and hands-on approach that may entail work beyond the financial – relating to client support, operations, HR, and technology as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

The candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) or equivalent, and desirably have an MBA or similar qualification in addition
  • Have a strong track record as a proven Finance Director capable of being effective in a scalable, start-up business; comfortable with unpredictability and undaunted by ambiguity
  • Be well-versed in technical/operational commercial finance and an ability to support with strategy, fundraising and investor relations, and working with corporate advisors
  • Have demonstrable and proven leadership skills; able to develop a team and effective at managing internal and external relationships

Salary:

Remuneration will be ca. £135-150k with equity participation
