Financial Controller - Falkland Islands
Description
An international maritime group with operations across multiple jurisdictions is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its core finance function based in the Falkland Islands.
This is a senior, hands-on role offering broad responsibility across financial control, reporting, and systems, within a complex multi-entity environment. It is well suited to a technically strong finance professional who enjoys building robust processes and improving how finance functions operate.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance & Commercial Director, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial management while contributing to wider commercial and operational initiatives.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:

Full ownership of the group’s financial control environment

Preparation of monthly management accounts and group consolidations
-
Statutory accounts production and liaison with external auditors

Budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
-
Oversight of transactional finance (AP, AR, payroll)

Leading, mentoring, and developing the local finance team
-
Driving improvements to finance systems, controls, and processes
-
Supporting senior management with commercial analysis and decision support

Ensuring compliance with local and international reporting standards
Qualifications
ou will be a qualified accountant with strong technical foundations and proven experience in a group environment.

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified

Typically 4–8 years post-qualified experience

Background in multi-entity or group accounting
-
Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, consolidations, and budgeting
-
Confident user of Excel (pivots, lookups, scenario analysis)

Comfortable working autonomously in a senior on-site role
-
Clear communicator with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
-
Willing and able to relocate to the Falkland Islands
